The Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings against the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians on charges of obstructing the execution of a court decision related to former bishop Arman Saroyan.
“The Patriarch’s departure from Armenia has been prohibited, which is an attempt to disrupt the Assembly of Bishops scheduled to take place in Austria. This is a historically shameful act by the authorities,” said lawyer Ara Zograbyan.
